The British Council is the UK’s principal cultural relations agency with offices in over 100 countries worldwide. It is active in the arts, education and the English language. It teaches English and employs 2000 teachers globally so is especially interested in measuring language teacher performance and in continuous professional development.
The British Council has been involved, as a pilot or as a partner, in a wide variety of projects. The institution coordinated for instance the LLP Comenius project “International Coordinator Training for intercultural education and diversity“ and the LLP Key activity 2 project “Language Rich Europe“. They have also taken part in DG EAC projects such as Youth in action and Getting to know Europe.
