First consortium meeting – A big step forward

The first meeting of the EPG project lead partners took place in Sèvres (France) at the beginning of November 2011. The partner institutions leading work packages met for a two-day long meeting on the on the premises of the CIEP, the coordinating institution of the project. This fruitful meeting allowed the consortium to take major decisions to ensure the smooth running and success of the project, that will last 24 months.

Ms. Galya Mateva, President of the association OPTIMA and Richard Rossner representing the association EAQUALS are both co-authors of the pilot version of the EPG grid, which serves as a starting point for our project. During the meeting the core EPG partners focused on the major challenges the project will face, like the amendments to be made to the existing grid, the establishment of testing activities on a large scale basis or the creation of an electronic and interactive EPG grid.

Elena Verdia and Marta Higueras representing the Cervantes Institute focused on multilingualism issues in the context of our project, this aspect being fundamental to its dissemination on a European scale.

Tim Phillips from the British Council emphasized the key role of quality assurance, which is central to European projects.

Much work lies ahead. If you want to follow the major steps of the project, sign up for our newsletter!
